Troop Open House

The troop open house is a great way to add new Boy Scouts. Since most Boy Scouts (90% or more) come directly out of Cub Scouting, it is a challenge to recruit boys who do not have a Scouting history. However, at a troop open house, you put on your "A" game and run the best troop program ever. Scouts invite friends (see "Bring a Buddy" for some ideas) and/or you just have folks come in to see what your troop has to offer. Either way, some potential new Scouts have seen a great troop program in action.

For more details on how to run a troop open house, follow this link or check out the Troop Open House video from the Council Service Center.
