  • Our top selling unit sold $27,845 of popcorn with a total of 20 units selling $10,000 or more!  Here's the list of the Unit Sales Totals for 2007.

Popcorn Recognition Event

Gulf Ridge Council hosted a special recognition event for our top popcorn sellers on Saturday, February 23.  Each of the Scouts who sold at least $1,000 worth of popcorn (list is linked above) was invited for an evening of fun, food, fellowship, recognition and magic!

In the end, 30 of our Scouts and their parents were there to attend that night and share in some pizza, chips, soda and celebration cake.  They participated in drawings for door prizes (including a television set, 2-way radios, marshmallow blasters--even some ArrowCopters!).  There was special recognition for the Scouts who really went above and beyond by exceeding the $2,000 mark and three Scouts who even exceeded $4,000!

This was followed by a special presentation on behalf of the NBA's Orlando Magic--a replica jersey for each of our $1,000+ sellers!  The evening concluded with a performance by Paul Weatherby, a professional magician who seemingly produced birds out of thin air, pulled a rabbit out of a hat--even levitated one of our Scouts (below, right) as he remove the legs of the table he was on one by one by one until there were none left!  Amazing. . .

Many thanks and congratulations to these Scouts for their outstanding efforts as part of the annual Boy Scout popcorn sale.

Show and Sell Without a Small Tin of Caramel

Some units have taken the challenge to conduct Show and Sell without the small caramel tin (the $10.00 item).  Others ordered only a small quantity and have since run out--now they wonder what to do.  This is NOT a problem!  Follow this link to find out why It's O.K. to run a Show and Sell with a $15.00 minimum.

If you have questions about the popcorn sale, be sure to contact your District Popcorn Kernel (see list below) or send an email to popcorn@boyscouting.com.

In the meantime, check out this proven "5-Step Sales Approach."

What Constitutes "Qualified" Show and Sell Returns

In 2006, we had a remarkable $60,000 worth of Show and Sell items returned to the council   We cannot allow returns like that anymore for a number of reasons.  Click on the following "Show and Sell" link for details.
