Or T-Shirts or meals or fun or...
Gulf Ridge Council announces a brand new spring product sale featuring a top-quality product packaged uniquely for Scouting: "On The Trail Mix."
The classic version of "On The Trail" is a delicious mixture of peanuts, almonds and cashews plus dried cranberries, raisins and M&M's. There is also a "power" version that includes peanut butter chips!
"On The Trail" is packaged in 9oz poly wrap with 8 packs of each variety in a 16 pack box. Each pack sells for $10.00 (total value of a box = $160.00). The quality of the product and the attractive price make it a great item for either door to door or "show and sell" approaches.
And, for variety, we'll also include the 11oz Caramel Popcorn with Peanuts (the same product we had in the Fall 2007 popcorn sale) in the spring mix. That gives a the consumer a choice of 3 items, all at $10.00 each. Click here to view a Sample Spring Order Form.
In the spring, units can earn a 45% cash commission or they can choose 40% cash + 10% "Scout Bucks" for a net 50% commission. "Scout Bucks" can be used for any council or district activity (camp fees, training events, dinners) or at any of our camp trading posts.
If you are interested in participating in the Spring Product Sale or just have questions, send an email to OnTheTrail@boyscouting.com and more details and sales material will be sent to you.

Why Sell Popcorn?
Simple: you can make a LOT of money for your unit. There are many more reasons but that's really the main one. The 2006 popcorn sale was the most successful in council history and our units earned $292,000 in commissions! With the springboard from last fall, this sale should go through the roof and YOUR UNIT should be a part of it!

Here's a list of Top 10 Reasons you should consider the Trail's End Popcorn Sale. If that's not enough, click here to see how POPCORN KEEPS CAMP COSTS DOWN!
2007 Commission Plan
For information about the 2007 Commission plan (you can STILL earn up to 50% of retail!), check out the Unit Leader Section of the popcorn web pages.
Popcorn Training Session on August 18
Be sure that your unit is represented at the 2007 Popcorn Sales Training on Saturday, August 18 as part of the Program Extravaganza held at Burnette Middle School (not far from Armwood High School). We'll address any questions you have and hope that each unit will leave informed and well-equipped for a successful popcorn sale in 2007.
How to Sign Up
A critical step toward earning the higher commissions is to commit to the popcorn sale NO LATER THAN THURSDAY, JUNE 7. To make it easy for you, here's a Unit Commitment Form on the Unit Leader page includes EVERY KEY DATE you'll need for a successful sale. Consider this:
- On average, 7 out of 10 people will purchase popcorn when approached by a Scout at the door.
- The average at-the-door popcorn sale is $15.00.
- If a Scout talks to 20 customers in an hour, he'll make 14 sales on average.
- 14 sales at an average $15.00 each = $210.00
- On average 42% of the retail is your commission = $88.20 for your unit.
- The AVERAGE Gulf Ridge Council Scout sold nearly $250.00 in popcorn last year and earned over $100.00 for his unit.
