Heroism Award is presented for life saving actions with minimum risk to self

Honor Medal is presented or life saving actions with considerable risk to self

Honor Medal with Crossed Palms is presented for life saving actions with significant risk to self when extraordinary skill or unusual heroism is demonstrated.
