Eagle Scout Resources

The Eagle Scout is the highest award that can be earned by a Scout.  The trail to Eagle is challenging but the rewards to the Scout for this accomplishment are great.  It is appropriate that the presentation of the Eagle Award at the Eagle Scout Court of Honor be a truly memorable occasion for the Scout, his family and his friends.

There is no set script, outline or "flow" for an Eagle Court of Honor.  While there are many common features of Eagle presentation ceremonies--a speaker may deliver a challenge to the Eagle, parents may reflect on his Scouting years, someone may explain the significance of the Eagle rank, other Scouts from his troop or Crew may participate in a flag ceremony, etc.--there is really only one element that seems to be universal:  someone officially presents an Eagle Scout badge and medal to the Scout!

The Scout Shop has a great resource book called "The Eagle Court of Honor Book," authored by Mark Ray.

A good web-based resource for all the steps along the Eagle trail is EagleScout.org.

Many public figures will send a congratulatory note to new Eagle Scouts when requested.  Here are some links to various lists of politicians and celebrities that have responded in the past.
