Gulf Ridge Council Properties

Visit Our Camps

To request the use of any of our camp properties, fill out a camp use permit form and submit it with the appropriate fees to the Gulf Ridge Council at least 2 weeks in advance of your planned activity.  To request use of the Council Service Center, any of the Conference Rooms or grounds, complete a Council Service Center Request Form and submit it in person or by fax to the Gulf Ridge Council.  Call for fees for Council Service Center use.

Camp Alafia

550 acres of primative camping located in Lithia, Florida just 30 minutes Southeast of Tampa.  Click here for a Map of Camp Alafia.

McGregor Smith Scout Reservation

Our newest camp property is nestled within nearly 50,000 acres of natural Florida forest, on the banks of the Withlacoochee River.  McGregor Smith boasts ample camping space, activity areas, swimming pool, dining hall, cabins, canoe base, retreat center and much more.  Click here for a map of Camp Lone Oak (the core camping area), or here for a description of McGregor Smith.  Click here for directions to camp.


Historic Swed Hall at Camp Brorein

Camp Brorein

Flaming Arrow Scout Reservation

Gulf Ridge Council's primary facility. FASR is our 1200 acre summer camp with three lakes, air conditioned dining hall, and several program areas. Physical Address: 1201 Boy Scout Camp Rd, Lake Wales, FL 33898. Click here for MapQuest Directions.

 

Sand Hill Scout Reservation

This 1,300+ acre camp is co-owned by the Gulf Ridge Council and the West Central Florida Council.  It sits near the intersection of Hwy. 50 (Cortez Blvd) and Highway 19 in Hernando County.   Summer camping programs offer a variety of activities including archery, rifle and shotgun, canoeing, rappelling and swimming.   And, just as with our other camping properties, Sand Hill hosts thousands of Scouts, troops and outside groups on weekend events throughout the year.  Click here for a website dedicated to Sand Hill Scout Reservation.

McGregor Smith Scout Reservation Driving Instructions:

  • Take I-75 North to Wildwood Exit 329
  • Go west onto Florida State 44 for 8.7 miles to Boy Scout Road, turn left. This is the first place you can turn left AFTER you cross the Withlacoochee River.
  • Go .9 miles on Boy Scout Road to the red and white archway on your right
